vs 21, 23–enter into the JOY of the Lord
Matthew 6:21–where your treasure is, that is where your heart is.
Matthew 6:33–But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
The Bible says that when we make a bad investment, we can repent of that and it will be as if we never did it.
If you are faithful in the few things, the small things, the everyday things, God will make you a ruler over many things.
Being faithful over your children, requiring them to attend church, teaching them faithfulness to their duties, teaching them faithfulness to God and to their family, you are investing in them and they will bring back a good return.
Proverbs 22:6–Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.
From the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks–whatever you are investing in your children and grandchildren, that’s what you are going to reap.
If you want your children to be rebellious, sow rebellion in them and you will get a good crop.
If you want them to grow up loving the Lord, invest in their life, living a lifestyle that shows them how to love the Lord.
Whatever atmosphere you put them in, that is the crop that you will get back. If you invest joy into their lives, you will reap joy. If you invest misery, you will get misery back.
If you are going to invest in the stock market, you need to study what will be the best investment. When you decide what you are going to invest in, then you must watch it, take care of it and know that no one else is as interested in your investment as you are.
We get involved in our investments. If you see your children as an investment, as your future, you will study and find out what is best for them. You will realize that no one is as interested in your children as you are. Don’t let other people raise your kids. They aren’t as invested in them as you should be. They are your future, not the school’s future, or the baby sitter’s future, THEY ARE YOURS!! God gave them to you to take care of. How are you going to present them to Him? Will they be better than you? Will their marriages be better than yours? Will they raise their children better than you raised them?
Joshua 1–meditate in the Word day and night so He can prosper everything that you put your hand to. How much are meditating in the Word? If you don’t see your life prospering, maybe you need to follow the instructions of the Lord. Put some investment in your life to get a good return.
You can begin today to make good investments in your children, you can begin today to make good investments in your life.
Proverbs 22:6–TRAIN up a child–Not just instructing—training is leading by example not just talking. Lead them to make the right investments in their lives.
Your investment of faithfulness, work ethic, habits, and your relationships will bring the harvest that you plant.
If you invest in your marriage by trying to lord over your spouse, if you treat your wife like a second rate human being, your children will see that and will bring that same return. If you show respect for your spouse, your children will be more likely to respect both of you!!
If you want your children to be complainers–then let them hear you complain!!
Investing in your marriage is investing in your children, in your future. If you don’t want to be around your spouse–there’s something wrong. Two are better than one. You are the boss of each other. When one of you is discouraged, the other can be an encourager.
Lose the mentality that one of you is better than the other. If you invest in your spouse, YOU get the reward!! Your investment will come back to YOU!!
